Ten Percent of Women Get Post-Sex Blues

Every once in a while I come across a study relevent to the sex personals community that totally depresses me; this is one of those whiles.

Researchers in Australia recently did a study on how women feel after sex. Did they find joy and happiness and feelings of elation? Yes, they did, but they also found depression. Ten percent of the over two hundred women surveyed said they feel “sad, anxious, restless or irritable” after sex. One of the women in the study described her post-coital feelings: “I did not associate the feeling with an absence of love or affection for my sexual partner nor with an absence of love or affection from them towards me, because it seem so unconnected to them.”

In other words, it wasn’t something her partner did or did not do, or at least she didn’t feel it was.

Man, I would be devastated to know that any woman I’ve ever met through online personals felt this way.

Researchers on the study were at a loss for how to interpret this finding; they speculated that it might stem from past issues, including sex abuse. However, in order to truly start forming a theory about they why, a lot more research needs to be done. Someone better get on that stat – the personals community needs to know its members are happy…
