Why You Should Never Cyber Stalk A Blogger

As defined on Wikipedia, cyber-stalker is the use of the Internet or other electronic means to stalk or harass an individual. The term may seem harsh and most likely uncalled for since if you have a Twitter account or a Face Book account, you have been guilty of cyber-stalking an ex from time to time. (Come on…we all have done it.) The only reason why so many people fall victim to the unhealthy addiction of cyber-stalking is because you can look up information on someone without even being caught.
I’m here to tell you that whatever you believed about cyber stalking is not true. You can get caught and if you’re cyber stalking a blogger, trust me, they know about it.
When I first started out this site, it simply started out with tales of my dating woes from women I would go out with from my online personals days. At the time, I had no idea how easy it was to be cyber-stalked from past lovers or dates until the day came when I was able to see everything they searched for online about yours truly.
Am I a highly-skilled hacker? Hell no, I don’t even understand how Tumblr works.
Do I have a top secret Face Book Profile Checker? Nope…but if you do, you better take your computer to a repair shop because you definitely have a Virus on it.
The truth of the matter is I am a blogger and if you’re a blogger, you are privy to information in your Dashboard that others who don’t have a blog have no idea about.
Although I’m breaking the Blogger code by divulging this information, I think it’s imperative for those to know because this is the best free dating advice you can get if you don’t want to look like a complete cyber psycho online.
Your I.P Address is Recorded
Have you ever left an obscene comment on an ex’s blog and think just because you put your name as “KurtCobainLover” that you have somehow secured your anonymity? Think again. It’s insane that this even has to brought up in 2012, but by now everybody should know about I.P addresses and how everybody has one. Every time you leave a comment, your IP address is recorded on the comment the blogger has to approve. This IP address is your cyber fingerprint so to speak and you can track down somebody’s personal residence and even their phone numbers because of it in merely just a few seconds. This how a lot of exes who harass their previous lovers get restraining orders. Food for thought.
Your Views Are Recorded
So maybe you’re not a vicious stalker and perhaps you just like looking your ex’s blog religiously just to see the updates. Trust me, your obsessive compulsion disorder is recorded every time you visit the blog. A large number of blogs can see when a certain I.P address is on the site and they can record every time you view the site. Finding this out is very simple since most bloggers are constantly checking their site statistics every day. Believe me, there have been some days where I was thrilled to see the numbers skyrocket on my site…only to be completely skeeved out to see one of my ex’s viewed the site 121 times in one day. Yup.
Your Google Search is Also Recorded
This is the one that many people have no idea about and let me tell you this is also the one I get a huge kick out of every time I sign into my site statistics because no offense, it’s funny as f*ck. Most sites (like mine) can also record search engine terms which means that if you search for a term on Google and then click on a link, the keywords you used to search for the link are RECORDED. Yeah. So let’s say you put, “Jimmy Jacob douche bag wigger heartbreaker” in Google and you get directed to my blog post “Why I Date Biracial Women,” then guess what? I can see that! (Somewhere out there, there is somebody feeling very sheepish right now.)
Or let’s use a more realistic cyber-stalking scenario. Let’s say you are consistently typing in Google your name plus your blogger ex’s name to see what comes up and then you click on the link. That will be recorded and your ex will know you’re not only viewing his or her site on a daily basis, but that you are also googling your names together making it look like the cyber equivalent to carving a heart with your initials in it on a tree stump. Creepy.
Now hopefully I didn’t ruin anyone’s day with this list and if I did, then I am truly sorry but the momentary sickening feeling you have in the pit of your stomach is better than the permanent ignorance of not knowing how you appear to others.
So if you find yourself guilty of these habits…let this article help you quit cold turkey now unless you like the idea of being compared to Glenn Close from ‘Fatal Attraction’ for the rest of your life.

It might not've been a great idea to tell people this. Now people are going to be scared to check back too much, even if they're looking for responses to their comments, LOL. Check at your own risk!
Thank you a lot for sharing this with all of us you really realize what you are speaking about! Bookmarked. Kindly also talk over with my website =). We can have a link trade agreement between us
Ha, I told this to a guy I was seeing (before I had even read this post) so that he wouldn’t search for my blog and read what I wrote about him! He later told me he had tried to find my blog (unsuccessfully) and was now too scared to try again!
